Asbestos Sheet Removal in Birmingham

Safe, licensed removal and disposal.

WHY CHOOSE US?

Correct identification – No matter the structure, garden shed or outbuilding, we carry our the same thorough assessment.

Whole-sheet removal wherever possible – minimising breakage keeps fibre release to a minimum and makes for a cleaner, faster job.

Proper disposal – asbestos cement sheeting can’t legally go in a standard skip or household waste, and we handle the licensed disposal so you don’t have to worry about it.

WHY THIS MATTERS

Flat cement sheeting sits in the same general risk category as cladding and guttering — relatively low-risk while intact, because the fibres are bound into a dense cement base, but increasingly likely to release fibres as it ages, cracks, or is broken during removal. Where sheet removal differs from cladding jobs is mostly in scale and setting: this is more often a smaller domestic or light commercial job like a shed roof, a garage wall, a single outbuilding, rather than a full industrial roof. The risk principle is the same, but the practicalities (access, cost, and turnaround time) are usually simpler.

FAQs

How do I know if my shed or garage roof is asbestos sheeting?

Grey, slightly wavy or flat cement sheets on a property or outbuilding built before the 1980s are the classic sign. It’s often mistaken for ordinary corrugated roofing, which is part of why it’s so commonly disturbed without a second thought. If in doubt, get it checked before removing it yourself.

No — asbestos cement sheeting is classified as hazardous waste and can’t legally go into a standard skip, household waste, or general builder’s waste. It needs to be handled carefully and disposed of via a licensed asbestos waste route, which is exactly what we manage as part of the job.

Most sheet removal jobs — a shed roof, a garage wall — are relatively quick and straightforward, often completed within a day. Larger outbuildings or multiple structures take longer, but it’s rarely as involved as people expect once they’ve had it quoted.

It matters for the approach we take, not whether the job can be done — damaged sheeting is more likely to have already released some fibres, so we take extra care with containment and may recommend a wider assessment of the surrounding area.

It’s usually one of the more affordable asbestos removal jobs given the smaller scale typically involved, but it depends on quantity, access, and disposal volume. We give a fixed price after a quick assessment.

We focus on safe removal and disposal of the asbestos sheeting itself. If you need the wider structure taken down too, we’re happy to coordinate with your builder or handyman so the two jobs run smoothly together.
